Garden Therapy

Temperatures are in the mid 40's this morning and the sun is shining bright. I had no choice but to do a little work in the garden today! It was so relaxing to be out there again. It's way too early to plant but a good time to start cleaning things up. I will have at least 10 raised beds to work with this year and I'm really looking forward to it. We have a relatively small space but are trying to grow as much as possible in it.

So far the raised bed tally is:
(2) 4 X 8 beds
(6) 4 X 4 beds
(2) 3 X 8 beds
Still to come this year or next:
(2) 4 X 4 beds
(2) 4 X 8 beds

Chris - I'm glad you posted these photos....so I could get a larger view of your garden area. I had to laugh when I read about your beds, especially those that are "coming soon". I see you have an "Add on" garden like mine has been for the last several years. Every year I have added beds (and I always need just one more) :-) I am so thankful for a gracious and helpful husband!

This is going to be beautiful in the summer. Can't wait to see what the season holds for you.

Connie- our original plan was to add 2 raised beds every year. However, last year my wonderful hubby caught gardening fever too and added 6 of them!

Thanks Bren. I can't wait either.

Oooh, your beds look great! I like how you've laid them out, too. I've just got two, but the square foot garden method really helps with yield. Do you seed your own starts? I'm going to try to do more of that this year. Happy Spring!

It is nice when you can just get out there. I can't wait 'til our snow is gone and the yard dries out. Then I can really see where our new beds will go this year. We will add (3) 4 x 8-12 beds -- not sure if they will be 8-feet or 12-feet.

Your yard is looking ready for Spring.

Paula- I've done some seed starting in the past but plan on doing even more of it this year. Best wishes with your raised beds and seed starting. Fun isn't it!

ChrisND- It sure is hard to wait for things to dry out. Three beds of either size sounds great. No matter how many more I add, I always come up with more than enough things I want to plant in them.

Thanks for visiting!
